Intermedia lecture by Pia Nikolič (Zavod Stripolis) on the history of Italian horror comics.
In Slovenia the famed Italian comic book publishers have long been and remain immensely popular. We will delve into the history of Italian horror comics, specifically the golden 70s and 80s, and touch upon those comic artists, who have worked hand in hand with the art of film. Through concrete visual materials the intermedia lecture will lead us from the popular and well known Dylan Dog to the potent eroticism of Lucifera, Terror, and beyond. We will introduce the audience, both newcomers and avid readers, to the mechanisms of comic art and the selected chapter of its history.
