SHIVERING SKIN, SHARPENING GAZE

Film criticism workshop
9. 4. – 14. 4. 2019 / Application deadline: April 1, 2019

Still wandering how all those genre masters manage to make your hair stand on end? Tempted to explore cinema’s “freakery” in written form? Then join us for the six-day film criticism workshop Shivering Skin, Sharpening Gaze, organized by KINO! Film Society for participants aged 18 and above.

Participants’ meetings will take place in the pleasantly thrilling festival atmosphere at the Slovenian Cinematheque. The viewings of selected genre treats will be followed by in-depth discussions and examinations of the specifics and subversions of genre cinema, preparing the participants for their own writing. Texts will be honed through discussions with the mentors, who will provide constructive criticism, comments and guidelines. All finished work will be published on Kurja Polt and Ostrenje Pogleda websites.

Attention! Maximum number of participants: 10. Participation fee: 15 €. Workshop mentor is Dr Maja Krajnc, editor-in-chief of KINO! magazine, assisted by film critic Robert Kuret.
